PURPOSE
Companies often fail to recognize where AI can create the most value, or they pursue too many AI initiatives simultaneously without clear prioritization. The AI Opportunity Radar helps you systematically identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI use cases by strategic relevance and feasibility. This concentrates resources on the most impactful AI projects.
HOW TO USE
First, potential AI application areas across all business units are collected, for example through workshops or interviews. These are then evaluated on the radar along dimensions such as value potential, feasibility, data readiness, and strategic fit. The results are visually displayed on the radar, with position indicating priority and time horizon.
WHAT IT IS
The AI Opportunity Radar is a visual canvas tool for mapping and prioritizing AI use cases within an organization. It is typically divided into concentric rings (time horizons) and segments (business areas or value chains). Each identified AI opportunity is placed as a point on the radar and evaluated against defined criteria.
EXAMPLE
Example: You head the digitalization department of an insurance company and need to determine where AI provides the greatest benefit. Using the AI Opportunity Radar, you systematically scan all business areas — from claims assessment to fraud detection to customer service — and prioritize opportunities by impact and feasibility.
