PURPOSE
Corporate culture is often perceived as diffuse and difficult to deliberately shape. The Culture Design Canvas makes culture tangible and changeable by making its core elements visible. It helps leaders and teams consciously define a desired culture and derive concrete measures.
HOW TO USE
The team collaboratively fills out the canvas fields, starting with purpose and values through to concrete behaviors and rituals. In facilitated workshops, the current and desired cultural state are discussed and documented. The results serve as a basis for targeted culture development measures.
WHAT IT IS
The Culture Design Canvas is a visual framework by Fearless Culture for the systematic design of corporate culture. It includes fields such as Purpose, Values, Behaviors, Rituals, Decision-Making, and Stories. The canvas format makes the often abstract work of culture development structured and manageable.
EXAMPLE
Example: After a merger of two mid-sized companies, completely different work cultures collide – one uses informal address, the other formal. With the Culture Design Canvas, you collectively define purpose, values, and desired behaviors for the new, unified organization. This creates a shared cultural foundation instead of a permanent cultural battle.
