PURPOSE

Before an organization invests in major innovation initiatives, it must understand how innovation-ready it actually is and where the biggest gaps exist. The Innovation Readiness Assessment provides a structured diagnosis of organizational innovation capability and reveals which prerequisites need to be established. This ensures investments are targeted and innovation barriers are systematically removed.

HOW TO USE

The assessment is typically conducted as a structured questionnaire or workshop in which various dimensions of innovation readiness are evaluated. These include strategy, culture, processes, structures, resources, and leadership. The results are visualized in a profile that highlights strengths and areas for action. Concrete measures are then derived from the findings.

WHAT IT IS

The Innovation Readiness Assessment is a diagnostic tool for evaluating an organization's innovation readiness. It typically covers 6-10 dimensions such as innovation strategy, culture and mindset, processes and methods, organizational structures, resources and competencies. The evaluation is based on defined maturity levels and delivers a holistic picture of innovation capability.

EXAMPLE

Example: Before your mid-sized company invests 500,000 euros in an innovation lab, you conduct an Innovation Readiness Assessment. You evaluate criteria such as leadership support, existing innovation competencies, budget, and error culture โ€” and discover that the risk aversion of executives is the biggest barrier.
