Servant Leadership Assessment
Self-assessment of Servant Leadership competencies.
PURPOSE
The Servant Leadership Assessment is used to reflect on one's own leadership practice in terms of Servant Leadership and to identify areas for development. It helps leaders recognize the extent to which they already act as servant leaders and where they can further develop. This initiates a conscious development process toward an employee-oriented leadership culture.
HOW TO USE
Answer the assessment questions honestly and self-critically, ideally supplemented by peer assessments from team members or colleagues. Compare your self-assessment and peer assessment and identify the largest gaps. Select one to two development areas and define concrete measures to specifically improve your leadership behavior. Repeat the assessment after three to six months.
WHAT IT IS
The Servant Leadership Assessment is a self-evaluation instrument that measures the core competencies of Servant Leadership according to Robert Greenleaf. It evaluates dimensions such as listening, empathy, healing, awareness, persuasion, conceptualization, foresight, stewardship, commitment to the growth of others, and community building. The assessment provides a personal profile that highlights strengths and development areas in servant leadership.
EXAMPLE
Example: You have been a team lead for two years and fill out the Servant Leadership Assessment to reflect on your leadership practice in dimensions such as listening, empathy, awareness, and stewardship. You realize that you are strong in empowerment but have development potential in the area of listening โ and resolve to consciously ask more open questions in meetings.
