Question cards for coaching conversations.
PURPOSE
Coaching conversations can stall when the coach lacks the right questions or the conversation remains too superficial. The Coaching Cards offer a structured collection of powerful questions that foster reflection and self-awareness. They help both experienced and inexperienced coaches lead deeper conversations.
HOW TO USE
The coach draws one or more cards at the beginning or during a coaching conversation and asks the question printed on it. The cards can also be drawn by the coachee themselves to discover their own topics. The cards can be used in individual coaching, team settings, or as a self-reflection tool.
WHAT IT IS
Coaching Cards are a physical or digital card set with curated coaching questions for various conversation occasions and topic areas. The questions are formulated to stimulate reflection, open new perspectives, and provide impulses for action. The cards cover areas such as goal-setting, values, obstacles, resources, and next steps.
EXAMPLE
Example: You are coaching a leader who only talks about operational problems in every session and never about their real challenges like delegation and trust. The Coaching Cards give you targeted prompting questions like 'What would happen if you left this decision entirely to your team?' This brings the conversation to the level that truly matters.
