Meeting Canvas
Structures the purpose and agenda of meetings.
PURPOSE
Meetings are often unproductive because purpose, agenda, and expected outcomes are not clearly defined. The Meeting Canvas creates clarity before each meeting about the why, what, and how, and ensures that the right group addresses the right topics. It reduces wasted time and increases the quality of meeting outcomes.
HOW TO USE
Before the meeting, the organizer fills out the canvas by defining purpose, desired outcome, participants, agenda, and time frame. During the meeting itself, the canvas serves as a visual guardrail that keeps discussions focused. After the meeting, results and next steps are documented on the canvas.
WHAT IT IS
The Meeting Canvas is a visual planning tool that summarizes all relevant elements of a meeting on a single page. It includes fields for purpose, goal, participants, agenda, time frame, rules, and expected outcomes. The canvas format is equally suited for recurring and one-time meetings and can be used physically or digitally.
EXAMPLE
Example: Your team spends 15 hours per week in meetings, but half of them end without clear results or next steps. You introduce the Meeting Canvas so that every meeting organizer must define purpose, desired outcome, participants, and time frame beforehand โ meetings without a completed canvas are cancelled.
