PURPOSE

Teams in organizations are looking for proven practices to improve their collaboration but often don't know where to start. The Atlassian Team Playbook offers a comprehensive, battle-tested collection of team exercises and diagnostic tools that can be used immediately. It helps teams recognize their strengths, address weaknesses, and establish a culture of continuous improvement.

HOW TO USE

Teams typically start with a Health Monitor to diagnose the current state of teamwork. Based on the results, appropriate plays (exercises) are selected from the playbook and conducted. Each play contains step-by-step instructions, time estimates, required materials, and tips for the facilitator.

WHAT IT IS

The Atlassian Team Playbook is a freely accessible method collection developed and tested by Atlassian. It contains Health Monitors for team diagnosis, structured plays for various challenges such as kick-offs, retrospectives, decision-making, and conflict resolution. Each play is thoroughly documented and directly applicable.

EXAMPLE

Example: Your newly assembled product team of eight people needs a strong start to collaboration. You select the 'Health Monitor' from the Atlassian Team Playbook for a team checkup and combine it with a 'Kick-off' format to jointly define roles, goals, and working methods.
