Learning Canvas
Structures learning processes in meetings.
PURPOSE
The Learning Canvas is used to consciously design learning processes in meetings and workshops and to systematically capture insights. It solves the problem that valuable learning experiences are lost in daily work because they are not documented and reflected upon. This anchors continuous learning as an integral part of teamwork.
HOW TO USE
Use the canvas at the end of a meeting, sprint, or project. Have the team jointly fill in the fields: What was the goal? What did we learn? What worked well? What would we do differently? What concrete experiments do we want to run next? Document the results visibly and follow up on the defined actions in the next cycle.
WHAT IT IS
The Learning Canvas is a visual tool from the Management 3.0 approach that structures learning processes in teams. It includes fields for learning goals, observations, insights, successful aspects, areas for improvement, and next experiments. The canvas can be used as a standalone retrospective format or as a complement to existing meeting formats.
EXAMPLE
Example: You facilitate a sprint review and use the Learning Canvas to structure the insights gained during the sprint: What did we want to learn? What did we actually learn? What surprised us? This way, important insights are not lost and flow directly into the next sprint planning.
