Team-Kommunikations-Canvas
Canvas for making team communication (internal/external/environmental) explicit and iteratively adjustable.
PURPOSE
The Team Communication Canvas makes the often implicit communication patterns and rules of a team explicit and therefore designable. It addresses the frequent cause of team conflicts: unspoken expectations about communication. The tool helps teams consciously design their internal, external, and environment-related communication and iteratively improve it.
HOW TO USE
The canvas is filled out collaboratively in a team workshop, with all team members contributing their expectations and observations. Communication is examined in three dimensions: internal within the team, external with stakeholders, and related to the work environment. For each dimension, current patterns are reflected upon and desired communication rules are agreed. The canvas is regularly reviewed and adjusted.
WHAT IT IS
The Team Communication Canvas is a canvas tool for designing team communication on three levels: internal, external, and environment-related. It contains fields for current communication patterns, desired rules, channels, and frequencies. The tool is designed for iterative use and is regularly reviewed and developed further by the team.
EXAMPLE
Example: Your cross-functional product team has communication problems โ developers complain about too many meetings, marketing feels uninformed. With the Team Communication Canvas, you make explicit which channels are used for which topics, when communication is synchronous and when asynchronous.
